Connecting you with local farms and homegrown produce, Communityfarm is dedicated to bringing you the freshest of fruits, vegetables, green and a whole array of goodies from small business located not more than 30kms away from Bangalore. Our wide assortment of products makes it a perfect one-shop shop for all your weekly and monthly dietary needs.

What we are
With the rise of awareness about healthy eating, Metro dwellers are constantly on the lookout for healthier alternatives to convention food. Look no further, in Bangalore alone, 15-20% of shoppers have switched and/or transitioning to what they believe is "healthy food". But consumers are not always equipped to validate the authenticity. Although the past couple of years has seen an increase in the number of businesses that claim to bring food straight from farms to table, to really establish a system that tracks food back to the producer is a much greater challenge.

Communityfarm.in is an initiative to create an online marketplace for everything you’d want in your kitchen – from fresh kale to pickles and at prices so reasonable because everything is sources locally from business run by people who understand what is means to eat healthy. We have partner farmers from different parts of the country, all who adopt sustainable agricultural practices. At Communityfarm we are trying to inculcate a “know your food-grower” attitude, so as to encourage a tightly knit relationship between the farmers/food suppliers and the consumers.

What Communityfarm does
We are aimed at creating of a trust layer by inculcating a ‘Know-your-food-grower’ attitude. We are achieving this by making information about the source of origin of your food just a click away. In the post-pandemic era, the importance of food traceability is growing in leaps and bounds and consumers want to know the journey of their food - from the farm it has been grown in to the kind of fertilizers used; from the kind of packaging material to information about the farmer who harvested. It has become extremely imperative that information like ingredient list, calorie content, additives and preservatives claims be made available to consumers on the go. This is why traceability is an integral part of communityfarm’s model and why we believe in transparency.

We support farmers who practice sustainable agriculture to grow produce that come under the umbrella of Organic/Safe-to-eat/Natural. Most small and marginal farmers tend to move away from natural farming because of pricing hurdles and the inability to reach the targeted customer segment who are on the look-out for this category of produce. We promote consumer awareness, benchmark expectations, and connect farmers to consumer communities. For e.g., An organically grown cauliflower may be mildly pest infested and that is a sign of organic, chemical-free cultivation. We take responsibility in conveying such instances to consumers and hence, spread awareness.

We also aim at incubating healthy food entrepreneurs and urban farmers. We shoulder their non-production load (Securing consumer base, marketing, logistics) and allow them to focus more on their production.
